WHO IS THAT ON TWO WHEELS?????

Quinn mastered the bike WITHOUT training wheels today (Aug 30th, 08)! Here's how it happened: His friend came over to play and showed up with his bike which had no training wheels. Quinn wanted to give it a try and he immediately started biking without any assistance. Here's what Mom figured out: The bike Quinn had been riding with training wheels was way too big for him to even attempt without training wheels. The key, I figured out, is to get him on a bike where he could sit on the seat and be able to touch the ground with both feet. I now have TWO little boys that are tearing up the neighborhood!

ORCAS IN SEWARD

While fishing in Seward on July 3rd we saw an enormous pod of Orcas. They hung around for a long time and really gave us a great show.

MINI MOUNT MARATHON

July 4th marks the annual Mount Marathon race in Seward, straight up a mountain and back down. The majority of the racers come down the mountain and through the finish line with muddied faces, wet shorts from sliding down on their bottoms and gravel embedded in their legs. An accomplishment to say the least.
The younger runners face a less intimidating course. For the 2-6 year olds a short course is set on the road. Young racers begin with great enthusiasm yet a lost shoe, lost sight of Mommy, a fall or a collision with other runners is cause for many tears on this course. The Guyer boys did a great job and finished their run without any mishaps.
