FAMILY CAMP 2008

Labor Day for us means it's off to Midnight Sun Bible Camp, our church camp, for Family Camp weekend. This camp is several miles down a one lane dirt road that requires a 4X4 truck to get you there. It is situated on beautiful Lynx Lake with a rustic lodge and kitchen and several cabins for sleeping. Now when I say cabin, I mean four walls and a roof. No heat, no electricity, simply shelter. It works. The weekend is spent enjoying family time and just having as much fun as you can pack in in one weekend. The boys arrived at camp and Mitchell immediately said, "Can we live here?" It is a true paradise for kids, both young and not so young. The highlights of our weekend are shown in the photos below.

Family Camp signifies the end of summer for us in Alaska. Tourists are back home, gift shops are closed down and boats are soon to be winterized. I typically have had my fill of camping and fishing by this time anyway and I'm ready to move on to fall activities. Around the Guyer house that means College football, oh excuse me, HUSKER football!!!! Scott will spend many a Saturday coaching his team from the couch and wrestling his boys during commercials. I will be set free to attend cycling class or pilates or whatever suits my fancy! Gotta love fall!!
